Winter Van Life: Our 6 essentials items to survive winter in the UK
Winter in the UK can be beautiful, waking up to a crisp, frosty morning can be magical but the reality of living in a van over winter can be tough. In the UK, winter weather means shorter days, less daylight and colder temperatures which can leave you feeling more sluggish which is why it’s important that your van is a calm, cosy place you can settle into on a cold winters day.

Coming out of hibernation
We are back!
With the lockdown restrictions easing, it is safe to say we can all start to leave our cosy hibernation spots. This year has been tough for everyone and we have all dealt with it differently. We have been less busy on our site simply because our motivation has taken a massive hit through the cold winter months and never seemingly never ending lockdown.
Despite this we have been busy though. We have been converting our Ford Transit into our dream off-grid campervan. This in itself has been tough, we have limited outdoor space and the cold weather has forced us to take on this challenge solely inside the van. Working in a small cold cramped space has been mentally exhausting, but seeing the transformation of the van has been fun.
With the constant changing in rules and regulations surrounding travel because of the never ending Covid pandemic we plan to spend most of the year once again exploring our beautiful homeland. We do want to do international travel, but at this time we are not legally allowed to leave the UK due to Covid.
We cannot wait for the warmer summer months and to be able to drive our van down to the coast and explore some of the best beaches in the country. We plan to spend a few weeks recovering on the Cornish coast before getting into full adventure mode and exploring many new places. We recently starting vlogging and we plan to vlog all of our adventures this year, so please subscribe to our Youtube channel which is linked above.
We are very excited to have you all along for the adventure and any must see travel recommendations in the UK are more than welcome, just send a message and we will look to check it out.
We hope you are all doing well and we hope you are looking forward to a brighter year just like we are!

Finding Our Adventure
Three years ago today we left on a 6 month trip that would change our lives. A couple of weeks before leaving England we set up a very simple website called Finding our Adventure. The plan was to simply share stories with our family and friends from our travels. We were also using Instagram to share our photos.
We had shared moments from our previous adventures on our wedding photography website and personal Instagram accounts, this time though we decided we wanted a place we could call home for our travel photography and stories.
Having arrived in Bali we felt incredibly free knowing that we had 6 months to explore Asia. It was incredible and we felt a massive amount of stress lifted from our shoulders. We also had our first hotel collaborations in Bali which taught us so much about how we could potentially turn our travel photography into a business.
We didn’t know it would become something that thousands of people would follow, read, comment and share at the time and we are blown away by the love and support we have received from an incredible travel community over the last three years.
2020 has been an incredibly tough year on the travel industry and any support shown to travel content creators through liking, sharing, and commenting is a massive help.
We are currently making plans for 2021 and looking back over the last three years and where it all began fills us with nostalgia and gratitude.
So happy anniversary (or travelversary) to Finding our Adventure that has changed our lives and hopefully brings entertainment and travel inspiration to all of you who follow our adventures.
We also hope you all have a fantastic Christmas!
